Sports Medicine Center
The Sports Medicine Center is South Mississippi’s most comprehensive sports medicine program. Nineteen physicians with varying specialties, including sports medicine-certified surgeons and a board certified neurologist, form the backbone of the Sports Medicine Center and make Bienville Orthopaedic Specialists one of the largest orthopaedic practices in Mississippi.
An all-star team of certified athletic trainers and physical therapists are “in the trenches” with the athletes every day at practices and games. They’re also in the clinic, providing expertise in injury prevention, evaluation, immediate care, and rehabilitation. Encore Rehabilitation, the largest physical therapy and athletic training company in Mississippi, employs the athletic training staff of seventeen certified and licensed athletic trainers.
The Sports Medicine Center is the sports medicine team for The Biloxi Shuckers, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and sixteen local high schools across the Coast. We conduct approximately 1,500 free pre-participation sports screenings every year, evaluating athletes from youth leagues to the professional ranks.
Now offering ImPACT neurocognitive concussion testing: As the only ImPACT testing provider on the Mississippi Coast, the Sports Medicine Center can provide pre- and/or post-concussion neurocognitive testing as well as post-concussion consultation with a certified sports medicine physician.
